12 Super Liveable Layout Ideas for the Feb 2024 BTOs

  • Mar 28, 2024

A total of seven BTOs were launched in Feb 2024, including one in a prime location—Tanglin Halt Courtyard in Tanglin. There were also projects in Bedok (Bedok North Springs and Bedok South Bloom), Punggol (Matilda Riverside), Hougang (Tanjong Tree Residences), Choa Chu Kang (Rail Garden), and Woodlands (Woodgrove Edge). We're here to take a closer look at some of the floor plans of these BTOs and see how you can get inspiration for your own home reno if you managed to land a unit in one of these projects. Let's dive in:

1. Bedok North Springs (5-room)

Instead of having three individual bedrooms, you could think about combining them into two larger, more self-sufficient ones with lots of storage space. With the extra room, you could add a study nook or dressing table for each bedroom, or even transform it into a mini walk-in closet!

2. Bedok South Bloom (4-room)

In this 4-room layout where space is limited, a kitchen island that can also be used as a dining table is a practical solution. Make sure to choose chairs that can be easily tucked away under the table to create more room to walk around.

3. Matilda Riverside (3-room)

We're all about supersized bedrooms! Thanks to the hackable walls in this 3-room floor plan, you can create a spacious, multifunctional space. It's perfect for a walk-in wardrobe, home office, or dressing table, giving you plenty of room for a ton of possibilities.

4. Matilda Riverside (4-room)

Because the living room is small, you might want to think about adding a dining nook in front of the kitchen instead. Built-in banquette seating can help save space. Using glass doors and windows to separate the kitchen can give off cosy cafe vibes and effectively divide the two areas.

5. Rail Garden @ CCK (3-room)

Say yes to hidden entrances! Here, a sliding door is cleverly disguised as the living room’s TV wall. It opens up to reveal the rest of the home, keeping things tidy in the living room and ensuring privacy when guests come over.

6. Rail Garden @ CCK (4-room)

If you prefer not to use a whole bedroom as a study area, another option is to set up your workstation in the living room. Place it near a window to get plenty of natural light and fresh air, and incorporate it into the living room's built-in furniture. Make sure the design of the workstation matches the rest of the living room for a cohesive and unobtrusive look.

7. Tanglin Halt Courtyard (2-room Type 1)

In 2-room layouts, the kitchen might feel a little small, so you'll need to merge it with your service yard or laundry area. Try to align your countertops with your washing machine for a neater appearance and ensure there's enough countertop space for laundry supplies or folding clothes.

8. Tanglin Halt Courtyard (2-room Type 2)

Having a half shower glass is perfect for preventing splashes in a small bathroom like this one. It lets light come through and you can even add a recessed shelf in the concrete wall for your toiletries.

Design: ECasa Studio

9. Tanjong Tree Residences @ Hougang (3-room Layout 2)

If you're looking to add a touch of unconventional to your 3-room floor plan, consider switching things up in your living room by moving the couch against the window. Create an arched walkway through the bedroom wall to transform it into a cosy lounge area, complete with a platform and floor chairs.

10. Tanjong Tree Residences @ Hougang (4-room)

Here’s one idea to merge the dining area with the living room by incorporating it into the main living room storage. For added privacy from nosy eyes by the entrance, set up a divider near the dining table. It can also serve as a convenient place to incorporate power outlets for things like steamboat dinners.

Design: Starry Homestead

11. Woodgrove Edge (5-room Layout 1)

Having a built-in bar table next to the open kitchen makes for a great spot for hosting and entertaining, and also works well for casual dining. To conceal any clutter in your service yard, you could create a gorgeous feature wall like this one made of slatted wood:

12. Woodgrove Edge (5-room Layout 2)

Make the most out of your space by rearranging the layout in your 5-room home. Move your dry kitchen behind the living room and combine it with your dining table to create a versatile and welcoming area for entertaining guests.
