I engaged Kate Zang and Ken Chia to renovate my dual key unit. After a month’s delay, they proudly delivered a lot of defective and shoddy work. I said “proudly” because they offered no apologies. I engaged them to do 9 carpentry work, on the handover day, they promised to redo/fix 8 of them. Their insincerity in redoing/fixing their defective/shoddy deliverables are blatant and appalling. I have decided not to put up with them.

Ken was the last designer we’ve met after the long search and we’re so glad and grateful that we got to hire this man as our ID. From the very first time we’ve met Ken, we knew that this is the guy that’s gonna turn our home into something that we could ever imagine. He came up with concept and ideas that we’ve never thought and we fell in love with it immediately! It didn’t even take us days to decide. As it is our first home together, we wanted everything to be as perfect as possible. Ken has been tremendously helpful and great at what he does. Basically, he settles everything for us. All we need to do is tell him what you want, do a little bit of research and if all fails, he will make everything happen and all you need to do is fork out your money. Having said that, he would bring us around and be with us when we need to purchase items, and he will even try his best to get us some discounts and free gifts! (well you don’t always need them to follow you around but because we are very clingy like that and wanted the best for our home). And if you can’t afford what you wanted to get, he will give you other great options all within your budget. We feel that Ken is a very knowledgeable person with experience. He would answer to all our queries, even some bimbotic questions he would entertain them all, and take the time to explain everything in detail and ensure that his clients understand. He would also try to work everything out within your budget to be able to help you achieve your dream home. 
All in all, Ken has been absolutely awesome and he has guided us throughout the whole journey with much knowledge and patience. I personally cannot recommend this company highly enough. I think new homeowners will be amazed to have such a committed ID. This review is nothing compared to the end product. Just look at his works once the photos are up and you will definitely want to hire him as your ID! In the mean time, please drop them a message/enquiry. It’s gonna be worth it!

Prior to our first meet up with Ken, we consulted two other local contractors who offered me about the same price. My neighbour recommended Ken to me and Ken's insights and ideas broaden my horizon during the first discussion. He did not ask me about my budget or offer me fancy packages, instead, he asked for our preferences and personalities in order to help us plan for the ideal home. He did advance research beforehand to understand our floor plan and possible restructures, which included amazing ideas such as putting a mirror with black glass frame in the living room, and a beautiful bar table at the entrance of the house. He also accepted our suggestions such as to hack off the wall between kitchen and dining room and to have a complete bar area instead of a simple island. We had a great discussion and gained useful information during the first few meetups, which inspired us a lot. In terms of communication, we had a group chat where Ken updates renovation details on a daily basis, we shared pictures, videos and advertisements to one another to make sure we were working on the same page. Ken was very helpful to answer every single question we asked, to consider all the suggestions and changes we would like to make. It is inevitable that our original ideas change so that Ken needs to revamp part of the design plan to suit our requirements. Ken is polite, professional, kind and responsible. With his help, our renovation completed within 2 months, which is faster than our friends. We should understand that sometimes due to public holidays and peak renovation periods, the team may not be able to put your project as the top priority when they have multiple projects on hand. In terms of decoration and furniture, Ken provided us with many good recommendations and personally drove us around for shopping. We bought lights, basin and air conditioners from the places he introduced and shopped for other things online. We really appreciate Ken spending so much time communicating with us, bringing us around and even settling small repairs for us towards the end of the project. His service also has a warranty period to take good care of our house condition in future. Our total cost is greater than expected but we are willing to pay extra for better service and quality. Overall we satisfied with Ken's service very much and we will definitely recommend him to our friends in future. Thank you Ken for the wonderful renovation experience!

My hubby and I were happy and fortunate to have Ken Chia as our ID for our first home. He gives practical designs and knowing we prefer simple concepts, he suggested bolder ideas to liven it up and yet able to keep it within our expectations, thanks Ken!

My partner and I chose Ken out of the 13 designers we met over the course of 3 months. It was our first place together and it was important to us that our designer is able to understand what we wanted based on the lifestyle we lead. On top of his ability to translate our aspirations into actual design plans, Ken's quotation was also value for money. With his design and construction experience, he was able to value-add and contribute in not only making our space look good, but also be efficient and practical. I also appreciate that Ken is not one to simply accept everything the client wants, he challenged some of our ideas when he felt it's the wrong direction/will not look nice/not effective. Knowing that I am a very thrifty person, he offered several cheaper cost options to some of my ideas. Overall, it was a pleasure working with Ken and am glad I had him to design my house. He has made my home a beautiful and happy place to be.
