A short walking distance to Telok Blangah MRT. There are also bus stops in front of the BTO with buses that take you to areas like Redhill, Tiong Bahru, Outram Park, Chinatown and Orchard.

The main amenities are within the residential block itself. Telok Blangah Beacon will encompass a supermarket, market and hawker centre underneath the residential blocks. These amenities will add to the existing site, which already features a neighbourhood centre.

The BTO is also a 10 - 15-min walk to Gillman Barracks, an arts cluster that also houses a number of F&B outlets, as well as shopping mall Alexandra Retail Centre.

Site visit

telok blangah beacon bto siteSite for Telok Blangah Beacon. A quiet neighbourhood, situated within a small cluster of other BTOs. We also spotted quite a number of seniors in the area. Above: The site for Telok Blangah Beacon is located on the left. Along Telok Blangah Drive. We didn’t observe a lot of traffic along this road. Only a few buses ply this road. The Telok Blangah Market and Food Centre will be eventually absorbed into the new BTO site.

Considerations When Choosing a Unit at Telok Blangah Beacon

[gallery columns="1" link="file" size="large" ids="153341"]

1. Rubbish chutes

Stack 458 is located right next to the rubbish chutes. Not the most pleasant smelling of places to be located right next to them! Plus, might also see a higher traffic of people milling in and out of your unit. No privacy.

2. Location next to the lifts

Stacks 450, 452 and 458 are located near the lifts, with direct views to the entrances of the units. Not much privacy for these units. If privacy is a major concern, consider stack 454 instead.

3. Facing the service driveway

Stacks 454, 456 and 458 are facing the service driveway, which mainly serves the shops at the existing block 78B and will eventually also serve the hawker centre, market and supermarket under Telok Blangah Beacon. If you don’t want to be disturbed by the loading and unloading from vehicles carrying goods and produce, avoid these stacks.

4. Traffic noise

We don’t foresee traffic noise to be a huge issue for Telok Blangah Beacon, seeing as traffic was relatively mild when we visited the site. Stacks 450 and 452 facing Telok Blangah Drive is also located relatively inwards, with a good amount of green buffer which will likely help in the absorption of traffic noise.

5. Afternoon sun

In terms of afternoon sun, all the stacks are exposed to it. However, stacks 454 and 452 are likely to get the brunt of it, seeing as most of their walls are facing the western direction.

6. Car park

The existing car park at 78A will also be the car park for residents at Telok Blangah Beacon. Avoid the lower floors (anything below the 8th floor) on stacks 458 and 450 if you don’t wish to have parts of your unit facing the car park. This isn’t just a privacy thing; fumes from vehicles entering your home can also be an issue.

7. Unblocked views

For relatively unblocked views, go for the following: Stack 456: anything above the 3rd storey Stack 458: anything above the 14th storey Stacks 450 and 452: anything above the 30th storey We cannot determine for stack 454, as it will be facing a high-rise building that has yet to be determined.
