These gorgeous furniture will make your home look like a Kinfolk cover

  • May 5, 2017

Kinfolk, which used to only refer to the quarterly lifestyle magazine and is mainly known for its beautifully styled shots, has only in recent years taken on to mean a very specific aesthetic. On social media, you will see it manifest as images of cups of lattes with foam leaf designs or in shots of artfully arranged flat lays of natural curios. In relation to interiors, it adopts characteristics like clean silhouettes, little ornamentation, the use of natural materials, and classic neutrals. It isn't difficult to recreate this look if you love this particular aesthetic. Ethnicraft Online, who is known for their quality solid teak and oak pieces, has recently introduced two new furniture collections that will take you one step closer to a Kinfolk-esque home, and will have your space looking just like a cover of the magazine in no time.

Speak wood

One of the common characteristics of the Kinfolk style? Natural wood. So the Bok Collection, comprising a matching dining table and chair, made out of solid oak wood would naturally (hah) be the perfect additions to your dining room.

What we love about this collection is how space-saving both the table and chair are, making them perfect for tight spaces. They feature a slim, minimalistic design that belies a solid construction.

The dining table comes in three different sizes, starting from 160cm x 80cm. Prices start from $1,695 for the smallest sized table and $395 for a single Bok chair.

Show leather some love

It seems you can’t do a Kinfolk style home without using leather, which like wood, is a natural material that will only get better with age. What better way to include leather than with Ethnicraft Online’s new N501 collection?

The series is available as a 3-seater or a 1-seater, and features a beautifully cognac coloured leather upholstery that appears slightly aged for that added character. It's incredibly versatile: set them against pristine white-washed walls or use them against a purposely distressed surface.

The 3-seater sofa is priced at $2,995, while the 1-seater armchair sets you back $1,795.

Both the Bok and the N501 collections are available for purchase on Ethnicraft Online's website and in their showrooms. Visit www.ethnicraft-online.com.sg for more information.
