DIY Interior Designing on a Budget

  • Mar 6, 2013

There are so many ways you can liven up your home. You do not really need to hire a professional interior designer if your aim is just to spice up your otherwise drab home. You can do it yourself. Of course, the key here is to do your research. Internet research helps a whole lot. DIY-Interior-Designing-on-a-Budget One of the secrets to adding life to your home is through indoor plants. Interior design through indoor plants not only livens up your space, it also beautifies your area and clears your indoor air. Studies have shown that plants effectively remove toxic formaldehyde, benzene, and carbon monoxide from the air. Plants known to be most effective in doing so are bamboo palm, Chinese evergreen, gerbera daisy and chrysanthemum. You can be creative in potting your plants – make them colourful, make them blend with your paint or wallpaper! You can even reuse quirky old jars to add some personality. Do note that some people may have potted plant allergies because of the soil which contains allergens. Still, there are other ways to go on with your DIY interior design project. Add other natural elements in your home without having to purchase them. You can collect polished stones and place them on your table top or add a bouquet of fresh flowers to your centre table. To add more character and personality to your home, you can purchase several picture frames and line up your walls with your old photos. These photographs not only make an interesting conversation piece, just looking at them may also give you warm, pleasant memories. You don't have to purchase a new couch. If you want, you can just add new couch covers. Drape them over your coach and tie them around the corners using pretty ribbons and voila, an instant couch makeover! A DIY interior design project need not be too large or too expensive. You just have to use your creativity.
