What’s around Alexandra Peaks?
With it being a PLH (prime location housing) BTO, you would think Alexandra Peaks has a lot going for it. But turns out, that isn’t the case.
The area is largely residential, with a mix of private and public housing. Save for the traffic noise coming from Alexandra Road, the vicinity is relatively quiet.

Traffic along Alexandra Road
While it is within walking distance to Redhill MRT station, it will take you approximately 10 mins to reach the station by foot (that includes ascending an overhead bridge)—so not quite doorstep convenience. The buses there will take you to the CBD and to areas like Bugis, Toa Payoh and Holland Village, which should help bolster the convenience in the area a bit.
Redhill MRT
In terms of amenities, there will be some commercial entities within the site (that should go some way to tell you that it’s not prime convenience), including an eating house, a minimart and some shops.
There are some notable amenities within walking distance, such as the Redhill Market and Food Centre, which is only about a 10-minute walk away. Additionally, the Bukit Merah View Market and Food Centre is also nearby, just a short 13-minute walk away. For daily groceries, there’s a Fairprice Finest at Arta, the mixed-use condominium adjacent to Redhill MRT. You’ll also find a number of eateries along that stretch.

Perhaps the best thing about the area is its location is right next to the Alexandra Park Connector. It’s a popular route for cyclists, as it leads you directly to the heart of the city.
Then there’s also the newly revamped Delta Sports Centre right across the raod from Alexandra Peaks that will be popular with sports enthusiasts. Besides a new gym, the sports centre also now holds futsal courts, badminton courts, three swimming pools and a full-sized hockey pitch.
New facilities at revamped Delta Sports Centre
The BTO is surrounded by quite a number of educational institutions, but in terms of primary schools located within a 1-km radius, there’s Alexandra Primary School, Gan Eng Seng Primary School and Zhangde Primary School.
Which unit should you go for at Alexandra Peaks?
There are only three unit types available at Alexandra Peaks, with 4-room units being the majority.
2-room
If you opting for the smaller 2-room flats (Type 1), these are located at stack 200. Stack 206 comprises the 2-room (Type 2) flats as well as some rental units. For those who aren’t particular about size, we would go for the lower floors at stack 200 for the views of the canal and park connector. Higher floors would also likely be able to get views of the city seeing as the condo development before it has fewer storeys.
3-room
If you're interested in the 3-room flats, you have three stacks to choose from. Among them, stack 236 is probably the best option, as lower floors have a view of the canal and higher floors offer city views. Despite being near the lift lobby, it's not next to the rubbish chutes and it's also a corner unit. The only drawback is that it overlooks the main playground, so lower floor flats might experience some noise from there.
4-room
There are plenty of options for those going for the 4-room units. For views, definitely pick the ones overlooking the canal since the alternative are stacks that overlook a busy road and the overhead MRT tracks.
Of those that overlook the canal, stacks 214 and 242 are better options if you want a quieter stack. In terms of privacy from the main corridor, go for stacks 212, 226 and 242.
All the 4-room stacks are likely to get the afternoon sun, although lower floors (below 10th floor) at stacks 208, 210 and 212 may get some shade from the neighbouring carpark.
