A Book/Magazine Holder for the Kids Room
- Mar 11, 2016
Step 1 Sponge the front and back of the book holder with white acrylic paint and sponge the sides with a mixture of Baby Blue + Sky Mist Acrylic Paint.
Step 2 Cut out the desired images from the 'Colourful Owls' and 'Owl Family Tree Blue' napkins.
Step 3 Remove 2 layers of napkin from the cut out images, leaving only the topmost layer with the image.
Step 4 Mix Baby Blue Acrylic Paint with some Glaze Medium. Paint the mixture onto a small portion of the frontside of the book holder. Use a grain stripping Comb to get the pattern desired. Continue until the front of the book holder is filled with desired geometrical lines. Dry the front side of the book holder with a hairdryer. Repeat Step 4 for the back of the book holder.
Step 5 Apply Super Glue for Decoupage on the front side of the book holder. Stick the topmost layer of the cut out images of the 'Colourful Owls' napkin onto the front side of the book holder and use a squeegee to remove all creases. Repeat Step 5 for the back of the book holder.
Step 6 Sponge the images (both front and back) with a moist sponge and dry with a hairdryer.
Step 7 Apply Super Glue for Decoupage on the left side of the book holder. Stick the topmost layer of the cut out images of the 'Owl Family Tree Blue' napkin onto the left side of the book holder and use a squeegee to remove all creases. Repeat Step 7 for the right side.
Step 8 Sponge the images (both right and left sides) with a moist sponge and dry with a hairdryer.
Step 9 Coat the whole book holder with acrylic varnish (3 coats), drying in between each coat with a hairdryer.
