Amidst the flourishing of Tengah BTOs, Parc Residences stands out as a little more special, mainly because it’s attached to a 3-storey neighbourhood centre, and perhaps also because it’s the first BTO launched in the Park district, one of Tengah’s five districts. There’s also a really heavy emphasis on fitness facilities here, and you’ll see what I mean in the rest of this article.&nbsp;This article's a part of our BTO review series, where we take a little site tour of recently completed BTOs. I don’t know why, but there are just so many bridges in this development. It almost feels like a mini version of Chongqing, the megacity in China where everything's linked by a vast network of bridges.<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1080/609;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/91e5ec1e-97fc-4b79-93fc-9a2bcef5c793-blob" width="1080" height="609"></figure>Bridges span across the entire estate&nbsp;&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1080/608;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/302ee67b-f91a-4477-ba8b-00dd1e5169b3-blob" width="1080" height="608"></figure>Link bridges connect block to block&nbsp;&nbsp;Parc Residences was launched back in August 2020, and is almost completed with some residents already moving in. I took a site tour of this recently completed BTO to check out just what sort of facilities residents will get to enjoy (and their neighbours might envy).<h3>Touring the grounds</h3>As a first-timer to the site, I did get a bit lost during the site visit. While there were clear signages everywhere, the BTO is designed such that linkages between the blocks, the upcoming neighbourhood centre and carpark are either via sheltered ground-level pathways or link bridges that aren’t always on the same level. So you kinda have to figure out the best route to take. It’s not very intuitive, and I’m sure it’ll take some getting used to. To prove my point, I even witnessed someone walking into a dead end and having to make a U-turn. But that’s really my only complaint about the BTO because everything else is well, pretty awesome.<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1080/609;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/1d711ecf-691b-425a-9f9a-531163c98fbd-blob" width="1080" height="609"></figure>Link bridges galore. This one links one of the blocks to the upcoming neighbourhood centre on the left of pic&nbsp;Parc Point - The adjacent neighbourhood centre: Parc Point is the second neighbourhood centre in Tengah town, and the one that’s attached to Parc Residences BTO. It’s a 3-storey one that is set to open in the first quarter of 2026, and will house a polyclinic alongside a Fairprice supermarket, a food court by Koufu (Gourmet Paradise) and other retail options.<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:960/640;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/7f254225-0a4a-4e2d-af74-496ece5c0518-blob" width="960" height="640"></figure>Artist impression of the interiors of Parc Point, courtesy of HDB&nbsp;I would go so far as to say that Parc Point’s what makes Parc Residences feel like a winning ticket, despite its meh distance (around 10-12 mins by foot) to the nearest MRT station (residents get to pick from either Tengah Plantation or Tengah Park stations on the upcoming JRL).Some of the blocks are linked directly to the neighbourhood centre (via bridges!), so that’s pretty convenient.<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1080/609;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/ea7b96cc-f2b3-4c1e-8923-1ed316d250af-blob" width="1080" height="609"></figure>&nbsp;Social hub - the main community space: But there are a lot of other things to love about this BTO. I was completely taken in by the gorgeous drop-off point signage, one of the first things you see when you enter the site. The space is airy, huge, comes with plenty of really on-theme seating (they look like tree branches) that you almost feel like you’re in a mall of sorts.<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1080/608;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/c54702cb-2062-449a-b121-6dde9c6cef5a-blob" width="1080" height="608"></figure>Easy to see where the drop-off point is!&nbsp;&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1080/608;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/2ed697f6-bc9a-4824-add6-9fbb74a5002b-blob" width="1080" height="608"></figure>The drop-off point located at the ground floor of the carpark features a generous space with lots of seats&nbsp;&nbsp;Behind the drop-off point, there’s the social hub, which is really the main community space for the residents within the BTO. It sits below the multi-storey carpark and features a childcare centre, a play area with climbing nets and all-weather fitness stations. I’ve seen a lot of BTOs, and I have yet to see one that features an exercise area that’s both sheltered and comprehensive.&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1080/608;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/4e56b20a-a024-44d9-8fdf-7566ec9fc4eb-blob" width="1080" height="608"></figure>The social hub comprises play areas, fitness stations (sheltered!!) and a childcare centre&nbsp;&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1080/608;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/c0836c5f-2eb8-4c20-945e-52247be25e47-blob" width="1080" height="608"></figure>Getting fit no matter the weather&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1080/609;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/b0050a80-5dbf-4900-874d-266dca48ec39-blob" width="1080" height="609"></figure>Look at that net playground. Can we talk about how lucky the kids here are going to be?!&nbsp;More fitness stuff on the rooftop garden: So if you go up to the carpark (via stairs with motivational messages to get fit—so fun!) or the lift (which kinda defeats the point of fitness), you will find the area dedicated to thematic playgrounds, more fitness stations and a 225-metre long rubberised running track. The retail street will comprise an education centre alongside various shops.<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1080/608;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/96868e46-0f3b-4dd6-b2a7-3f62e8af5308-blob" width="1080" height="608"></figure>The upcoming retail street&nbsp;&nbsp;The little details: Because this BTO sits in the Park district, you’ll notice plenty of small touches that allude to the theme throughout, which is really quite nice. For instance, there are leaf-patterned cut-outs on some of the ceiling panels, plant-themed concrete etches on the ground, and even communal seats shaped like branches.The facade design is fairly consistent across Parc Residences, with deep orange and green accents arranged in a way that resembles a simple tree illustration.<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1080/609;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/bde6bc35-e871-4713-bcb2-141a0f93a155-blob" width="1080" height="609"></figure>The facade design. See the “trees”?&nbsp;&nbsp;What else is coming up?: On the site plan, there’s a large common green area that spans diagonally across the west side of the BTO. During our site visit, it was still under construction, but it’s a really large area that will comprise even more facilities and community spaces, adding to the vibrancy of the area.<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1080/608;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/bd1e30ab-3576-46f9-bb41-56d1b564b64e-blob" width="1080" height="608"></figure>The common green (still under construction to the right) is set to feature more facilities residents can enjoy&nbsp;&nbsp;Within the blocks: Under each block, the void decks are kept simple, with pebble wash seats and tables. The communal corridors linking the units are also on the shorter side, so there aren’t many units on each level, which makes it easier to get to your home. Some units do have less privacy, as the bathroom and yard face directly onto the corridor. Otherwise, front-door privacy is pretty good, since each unit is slightly “recessed” inward.<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1080/608;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/c63a4843-de7b-41ba-92d5-5a7c12bc66b9-blob" width="1080" height="608"></figure>Void decks are also on theme&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1080/608;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/d09b1f44-feda-48dd-b927-4b964ec34728-blob" width="1080" height="608"></figure>Bathrooms and yards at some of the units have a pretty close proximity to the common corridor&nbsp;&nbsp;Another feature in some of the blocks is the sky garden, additional community spaces that are sheltered and come with generous, expansive views, so you can lounge around with neighbours and spill the tea. These are located on the 8th floor, which is also where most of the link bridges are, making them more likely to be used.<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1080/608;" src="https://d213h1b7vxzzl3.cloudfront.net/editor/a2c88e4e-9912-42a1-a45b-c0b952b405e5-blob" width="1080" height="608"></figure>One of the sky gardens. This one faces the future common green&nbsp;Overall, Parc Residences is pretty self-sustaining.
