A prime project, Mount Pleasant Crest is the first development in the new Mount Pleasant estate, an extension of Toa Payoh. Since the area’s still developing, it’s hard to say exactly what amenities will be in place, but one thing’s for sure: the BTO is conveniently close to the MRT. Six buildings identified as the most significant representations of Singapore’s police heritage will be conserved. Elements from the academy’s former drill shed and swimming pool have also been salvaged and will be reused within the development. It will be primarily served by Mount Pleasant MRT station on the Thomson-East Coast Line, which is scheduled to open alongside the surrounding housing developments.Mount Pleasant Crest is also notable for being only the second BTO to launch with open-concept “white flat” layouts since their introduction in 2024 at Crawford Heights. They are designed under a new framework intended to offer more engaging and varied play experiences for children. According to HDB, Mount Pleasant Crest is the first BTO to pilot this framework, with playgrounds specifically designed to encourage physical, social and creative play. That said, there appears to be an upcoming mixed-use development located right in front of Mount Pleasant Crest, which should help improve amenities and overall convenience in the long run.Nearby Singapore Polo Club (SPC) is also set to remain at least beyond 2050, so it will still be part of the landscape when you move in around 2031. Among them, the higher-floor units at stack 115 may offer relatively unblocked views, as they face the Singapore Polo Club. This is also likely the only stack that does not face a future construction site, which means fewer years dealing with nearby works after moving in.If privacy is a higher priority, stack 185 should have a slight edge, as it is positioned further away from the lift lobby. For quieter flats, go for higher floor units at stacks 111, 113, 117 and 183.If you are more concerned about privacy, the best stacks to look at are 109 and 111, as well as 199 (for units above the 6th floor).
