5 Places to Buy Knobs and Handles in Singapore

  • Nov 21, 2023

Also known as jewellery for your home, knobs and handles may not be something you think of first when it comes to your renovation, but these unassuming hardware can definitely make or break the aesthetic and functionality of your home. From designer pulls to practical T-bars, we check out five physical stores in Singapore to shop for and get a feel for these gems.

Lavavella

Located along a row of shophouses in hipster-town Joo Chiat, this quaint little shop isn’t new to those in the know. But they still carry some of the most comprehensive collection of knobs and handles in the market.

What they offer: Whether you’re seeking something more classic or you’re thinking of going quirky, Lavavella has it all. Prices range $10-20 for their knobs while their handles start from $20 onwards. Their next shipment will arrive in Jan 2024, although they do have some ready stock available at the moment. They also do customisations if you can’t find what you want here. Moulding for bespoke designs start from about $100.

329 Joo Chiat Road; Mon - Fri: 11am-7pm, Sat: 11am-5pm, closed on Sun.

UNTOLDstr

Situated on the 7th floor of a raggedy industrial building just minutes away from the heart of  Paya Lebar, is UNTOLDstr. Its linear-shaped shop isn’t a particularly lengthy one and neither are its opening hours. But the friendly boss advises to bring along your 3D renderings to get recommendations on the best fits.

What they offer: Plenty. From uncommon wooden knobs to grips that look more like jewellery, you’ll find just what you ned here. Brass knobs start at around $21 to around $50 for longer 30-cm handles, and they do have some pieces in stock.

113 Eunos Ave 3 07-08, Level 7 Gordon Industrial Building; Wed & Sat: 12.30-5pm, Sun: 1-5pm.

Hafele

Better known for their storage solutions such as wardrobes and kitchen cabinets, Hafele also carries a collection of knobs and handles that can be fitted with their solutions or your own carpentry.

What they offer: Mainly classic, fuss-free silhouettes in standard hues like aluminium, matte black and brass, although there are a few trendier options in the mix. They also carry some concealed grips if you want a more seamless “handle-less” look. While prices are relatively affordable, with a standard 24-cm handle going for around $15, there is a minimum order of 10 pieces though, and they don’t carry stocks so you’ll have to order in advance!

1 Kaki Bukit Rd 1, #01-27/28 Enterprise One; Weekdays: 9am-6pm.

Ikea

If you don’t already know, our friendly Swedish furniture giant also carries a wide range of knobs and handles. Check out their collection online or head down to any of their physical stores to get a better feel for their products.

What they offer: Quite a healthy mix of knobs and handles! Anything from retro cup handles to Scandi-style leather pulls. Prices are in the comfortable range, with a nearly 43-cm long handle going for just $22.90. Solid wood round knobs are just $9.50 for two.

Ikea Alexandra, 317 Alexandra Road; Sun - Thu: 10am-10pm, Fri & Sat: 10am-11pm.

Sol Luminaire

You may have heard of Sol Luminaire when you’re sourcing for gorgeous lighting for your home, but did you know they also carry a limited range of knobs and handles from London-based brand Buster+Punch under their Lab 2.1 brand?

What they offer: Don’t head to the wrong showroom—it’s the one next door. Their knobs and handles are made from solid metals and veer towards an industrial, grungy aesthetic. The ones available in Sol Luminaire come in three colours—black, steel and brass. Prices are on the atas level, with knobs costing $119 and 26cm pull bars going for $199. You can see the full range on their website before heading down.

395 Guillemard Rd; Mon - Sat: 10am-7pm, closed on Sun.
